Zane/LaBelle Trading Post 1830’s Pioneer Village
Call us at 937-592-9592

The Pioneer & Shawnee villages inspire visitors to step back into time. The two villages are intentionally adjacent so visitors can make their own conclusions and comparisons. Both cultures are displayed as fair and as equal as possible. Buildings are authentic and moved from their original sites to be used as educational tools as well as exciting and interactive family entertainment. The trading post was the contact between the two cultures and was proof that history could have turned out better.

Donations of items and labor are invited.

Adults $6.00 Children $3.00

Historic Shawnee Village

Built just like historic wikons using 16 bent poles and covered with elm bark.

This area was historically shared by the Shawnee and Wyandotte Indian Nations. Three “marker trees” at the Zane Shawnee Caverns make this special place a historic crossroads and fitting that this land is now owned and operated by the United Remnant Band of the Shawnee Nation – The only state recognized tribe in Ohio.
